Invitation (Circassian dance) EP, Mon, 09 Oct, 12-13h

The history and culture of the Circassians, their wishes and aspirations are not yet really well known in Brussels , and neither is their contribution to European unification. As the most ancient people from the Caucasus, they are closely linked with the history of the Black Sea and Europe . Jason and the Golden Fleece, the Amazons as well as Prometheus belong to this heritage. Their extraordinary culture is reflected in their traditional dress, musical instruments and dances. Therefore, I have taken the initiative to invite a group of young German Circassian dancers and musicians to perform at the entrance of the European Parliament.

Einladung (tscherkessische Tänze) EP, Mon, 09 Okt, 12-13h

Die Tscherkessen sind mit ihrer Geschichte, Kultur, ihren Wünschen und Hoffnungen sowie mit ihrem Beitrag zur europäischen Einigung im Brüsseler EU-Umfeld eher unbekannt. Als früheste bekannte Ureinwohner des Kaukasus sind sie eng mit der Geschichte des Schwarzen Meeres und Europas verbunden. Jason und das goldene Vlies, die Amazonen, Prometheus gehören zu diesem Erbe. Viele Elemente ihrer einzigartigen Kultur haben Ausdruck in ihren Kostümen, Musikinstrumenten und Tänzen gefunden. Darum habe ich eine Gruppe von jungen Tscherkessen aus Deutschland eingeladen, damit sie auf den Stufen des Parlamentes eine Darbietung ihrer Kunst geben können.

Invitation (Tcherkesse danse) PE, Lun, 09 oct, 12-13h

Tant l'histoire ou la culture, que les espoirs et les aspirations des Tcherkesses demeurent méconnus à Bruxelles, autant que leurs contributions à l'unification européenne. Doyens des peuples du Caucase, ces derniers ont pourtant participé étroitement à l'histoire de la mer Noire et de l'Europe. Jason et la Toison d'or, les Amazones, de même que Prométhée consacrent cet héritage. Une culture extraordinaire qui s'exprime par des danses et des instruments de musique originaux, et s'expose par des costumes traditionnels sans pareil. Ceci m'a convaincu d'inviter un groupe de jeunes Allemands tcherkesses à venir, à l'entrée du Parlement européen, nous présenter leurs danses.
